There are several ways of adding a link to an external website from your own website.
1 Adding a link to your links page
With ArtWeb you can create a separate ‘Links’ page where all your links will be placed on. This page is automatically created when doing the following:
- Login to your Control Panel
- Click ‘Links’ -> ‘Add new’
- Under the 'Links on Links Page' section, enter the URL of the website you are linking to and the link’s text
- If you wish you can tick the box next to ‘new window’ if you want the link to be opened in a new window, rather than having it load in the current window.
- Then click the 'Add New Link' button
2 Adding a link to your website menu
You can also add a link directly to your website menu. This is good if you want to give a link high visibility. E.g maybe you want to link to your twitter account, or blog, or your shop page on artweb.com
- Login to your Control Panel
- Click ‘Links’ -> ‘Add new’
- Under the 'Links in Website Menu' section, enter the URL of the website you are linking to and the link’s text
- If you wish you can tick the box next to ‘new window’ if you want the link to be opened in a new window, rather than having it load in the current window.
- Then click the 'Add New Link' button
3 Adding a link on a text/gallery page
If you want to add a link to a page other than the links page, this is possible in your text editor. Please highlight your desired link text in your text editor and clicking the 'Link' icon in your text tool bar, then adding the link page address.
- Login to your Control Panel
- Click ‘Pages’ -> Edit
- Find the page you want to create a link on and click ‘Edit’
- Create some text in the text editor or choose existing text
- Highlight the text you wish to be a link
- Click the ‘Link' icon in text toolbar
- Input the link address URL
- Click ‘Submit’
- Click ‘Save Changes’
