If you have a top-level domain for your ArtWeb website (e.g. yourname.co.uk or yourname.com) and it was registered by us, we can transfer it away from our registrar to your own registrar so you can have control over it.
A registrar is a company like 123-reg, UKreg, Godaddy etc. that handle the registration of domains. You'll need to choose a new registrar in order to transfer your domain away from ArtWeb.
1) Choose your prefered registrar and create an account with them.
2) Once you have done this please contact us that you’re ready to transfer your domain into your new account. Depending on the type of domain the process is slightly different:
.co.uk domains
To transfer a .co.uk domain, ArtWeb will have to change the IPS tag of your domain. Please give us the IPS tag as provided by your new registrar and we will update your domain accordingly (please allow about 24 hours for this process).
Once the IPS tag is updated in our account you can transfer the domain into your own registrar’s account. If you have trouble with this, please contact your registrar’s customer support, as they know exactly how this is done in their system. Or search their FAQ page on how to transfer in a domain.
.com, .org, .net domains
To transfer a .com domain, we will first need to unlock your domain at our registrar and and provide you with the Authorisation code. Please let us know when you are ready to receive this information and we'll unlock your domain and provide you with the Authorisation code (please allow about 24 hours for this process).
After you’ve entered in the Authorisation code at your registrar, we might need to confirm the transfer once more at our end. Please let us know when you’ve entered in the Authorisation code and we’ll confirm the transfer. If you have trouble with this, please contact your registrar’s customer support, as they know exactly how this is done in their system. Or search their FAQ page on how to transfer in a domain.
